Admission Procedure and Policies

At Denning and DITE, the admission process is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and alignment with the institution’s academic standards. The steps below outline the complete admission journey:

Online Application
Visit our official website to complete the Online Application Form. Ensure all personal and academic information is entered accurately before submission.
Document Submission
Upload academic transcripts, CNIC/B-Form, passport-sized photographs, and any supporting documents (e.g., IBCC/HEC equivalence for foreign qualifications).
Profile & Document Evaluation
The Admissions Committee reviews all submitted applications and supporting documents to verify eligibility. Shortlisted applicants are invited for the next stages of assessment.
Entry Test
A 60-minute on-campus assessment evaluating analytical reasoning, subject aptitude, and general academic competencies relevant to the chosen program.
Panel Discussion
Shortlisted candidates participate in a panel discussion moderated by faculty or admissions officers. This stage evaluates communication ability, critical thinking, teamwork, and clarity of thought.
Interview
A one-on-one interview with the Board of Admissions to assess academic motivation, personal goals, and overall program fit.
Offer of Admission
Successful candidates receive an Official Offer Letter outlining the next steps for enrolment, including documentation and fee payment deadlines.
Fee Payment & Enrolment Confirmation
Admission is confirmed upon submission of all required documents and full payment of enrolment fees within the specified deadline.
Orientation Day
New students participate in Orientation Day — an interactive session introducing DITE’s academic structure, campus services, student societies, and key university policies.

Admission Test Guide

The Denning admissions test helps us evaluate your academic readiness and personal learning potential, ensuring you’re prepared for the rigor and opportunity Denning offers. It’s a one hour and thirty minutes test divided into 4 sections that include both multiple-choice and short-answer questions.

Section 1: English Proficiency & Critical Reading

This section evaluates a student’s ability to comprehend, interpret, and critically engage with written content, it includes questions like:

  • Comprehending Passages
  • Identifying the key message 
  • Correcting grammatical errors
  • Identifying the writer’s tone or intention
  • Summarizing passages in one sentence

Section 2: Quantitative & Analytical Reasoning

Assesses problem-solving abilities, numerical fluency, and logical reasoning, it includes questions about:

  • Basic maths (like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Simple algebra 
  • Shapes and measurements (geometry)
  • Reading and understanding charts or tables (data interpretation)
  • Solving word problems using logic and math

Section 3: Analytical Essay

Evaluates writing, reasoning, and the ability to develop strong arguments. The section includes questions where you:

  • Choose one topic out of three 
  • Write an essay within the specified word limit

The essay should demonstrate:

  • Clear and organized writing
  • A strong argument supported by evidence
  • Proper use of grammar and structure

Section 4: Program Specific Questions

Measures your readiness for higher education and the important skills for academic success, it includes questions about;

  • Thinking critically and solving problems
  • Understanding and analyzing information
  • Ethical Values
  • Working with digital tools and technology
  • Understanding different career options

Preperation Tips

  • Read academic articles and editorials to strengthen critical reading.
  • Review basic math concepts from secondary education.

  • Legal ethics, reasoning, confidentiality and negligence scenarios
  • Fundamental human rights, constitutional law and legal history

University Policies

A credit hour is defined as 16 contact hours for theory courses and 32 contact hours for laboratory courses, in line with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan standards.

Credit Transfer Policy:

  • Transfer credits are accepted only for grades C+ (≥67%) or above.
  • Credits must be earned from an HEC-recognized institution.
  • A maximum of 50% of total program credits may be transferred.

Exemptions:

  • Course exemptions do not reduce the total required credit hours.
  • Applications for credit transfer must include syllabi, contact hours, and grading details.
  • Mid-term exams: 90 minutes | Final exams: 120 minutes.
  • Students must bring a printed admit card and a valid student ID to all examinations.
  • Electronic devices (phones, smartwatches, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
  • Late entry is not allowed after half of the exam duration has passed.
    Borrowing stationery is not permitted.
  • Academic dishonesty (cheating, impersonation, or misconduct) will result in disciplinary action,
    including suspension or expulsion.
  • For lab or practical courses, additional departmental examination guidelines may apply.
  • Attendance in all lectures, tutorials, and seminars is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 80% attendance is required in each course to be eligible for final examinations.
    Students with more than 20% absences in any subject will automatically receive an ‘F’ grade.
  • Students joining late after 20% of sessions have been completed will be marked absent for
    missed classes.
  • Active class participation and timely assignment submission are part of the attendance
    requirement.

Denning and DITE is committed to promoting academic excellence and accessibility through its diverse
scholarship portfolio:

1. Merit-Based Scholarships

  • Awarded to new students based on exceptional academic results (CAIE or equivalent).
  • Continuing students may qualify based on distinctions in University of London or University of Greenwich exams.

2. Need-Based Scholarships

Available to students facing financial constraints, including:

  • Orphans
  • Single-parent households
  • Needy household category

3. Sibling Scholarship

Tuition discounts offered to siblings enrolled concurrently at DITE, students must consult with the finance for assistance.

4. Athletic Scholarship

Awarded to students demonstrating outstanding performance in sports at the institutional, national, or international level.

5. Hafiz-e-Quran Scholarship

Granted to students who have memorized the Holy Quran and meet the academic eligibility criteria.

Denning and DITE maintains a flexible refund and withdrawal policy to support students facing unforeseen circumstances.

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Finance Office before the commencement
    of the academic term.
  • Approved refunds are processed according to the university’s official refund policy.
  • Admissions may be cancelled due to non-payment of fees, failure to meet academic requirements, or breach of institutional policies.

General Guidelines

• Students are advised to retain all payment receipts for verification and record purposes.
• Fee payments must be made within the deadlines stated on the challan or invoice.
• Late payments may incur a late fee surcharge or suspension of academic services (e.g., LMS
access, exam eligibility).
